The first 300 Mississippi residents to reserve a Mississippi Symphony Orchestra specialty license plate will mark the beginning of a new tag offering that will benefit the Symphony for years to come. A portion of every MSO specialty plate sold will go directly to the Symphony (a 501c3 non-profit) to fund strategic educational programs and initiatives. Use this striking way to spread the word about your love of fine music and live listening.

Cost / Benefit

Purchasing an MSO specialty license plate adds just $31 to your regular annual vehicle license registration fee and provides the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra with $24* in funds to foster statewide partnerships in providing concerts, string instruction, and life-changing educational initiatives.

Looking Good

MSO specialty license plate make an elegant statement in the roadway environment and confirm your support for the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. The unique plate design features a play of colors and our web address, along with the numerals that are sequentially issued by the State—sorry, no custom number or character selections available.

Pick Up Period

As soon MSO is alerted to plate availability, you will be notified, allowing you up to 60 days to take your current plate to your County Tax Assessor Office and trade it in for your beautiful new MSO specialty license plate!

Should you move to another Mississippi county, while waiting for the debut of the new MSO specialty license plates, you may request the transfer of your plate reservation by visiting your new County Clerk Office or contacting the Department of Revenue directly.

MSO specialty license plates may be transferred to another vehicle, as long as both vehicles are registered in the same county.

More Than One

You may purchase MSO specialty license plates for all your vehicles (including passenger recreational vehicles, but not boats, jet skis, or motorcycles).**

Change of Heart

Things change. Should you no longer wish to honor your reservation for an MSO specialty license plate prior to the date of issue, MSO will return your payment.

Reality Check

We certainly hope that our MSO specialty license plates are well received and ultimately appear on hundreds of cars across the state! However, should we fail to reach our required 300 reservations within two years, your $31 reservation fee (held in escrow) will be returned to you with our sincere appreciation.

*The amount non-profit organizations recieve from specialty plate sales is determined by the Mississippi State Legislature. Presently, each $31 specialty plate sale yields $24 to MSO.

**You may purchase plates for more than one vehicle, unless you have a specific stipulation from the State regarding the number and type of vehicle license plates you are authorized to receive.
