Clef Notes

Clef Notes is held prior to each of the five Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo Series concerts. The purpose of Clef Notes is to help concertgoers gain insight on upcoming concerts from the conductor and guest artist.  New this year is a special evening edition of Clef Notes on February 20, 2014.

Sub Debs

Continuing its mission to reach out to the community's youth, the Jackson Symphony League launched Sub Debs. Sub Debs are metro area girls in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades who assist the Symphony as volunteers at concerts and other events, as well as by helping raise funds for MSO.

    Presentation and Floral Demonstration Featuring Native Mississippian John Grady Burns

     

    Featuring John Grady Burns

    John Grady Burns is a native of Natchez, Mississippi, who currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. He has carved a niche in the floral arena in the areas of weddings, parties and events. His work has been on display for The White House, The Blair House, and numerous Embassies and foreign and domestic dignitaries in Washington, D.C. After moving to Atlanta, his work has been featured at numerous events including the Atlanta Symphony Ball, Atlanta Ballet Ball, and Junior League Ball. He has won numerous awards with the Southeastern Flower Show.

    John Grady Burns’ presentation will include a floral demonstration, featuring foliage and flowers available to the Jackson area. Arrangements made during the demonstration will be available through a raffle, with the drawing to take place at the conclusion of the luncheon.

     

    Publications of John Grady Burns include Personally Yours, flowers for weddings, parties and events and Evergreen, decorating with the colours of the season. He will be available to autograph copies of these books at the conclusion of the event.

  • 2014 Symphony Ball:

    2014 Symphony Ball - The Emerald Ball

    Preparation and planning are well underway for the 2014 Symphony Ball set for September 20, 2014 at the Country Club of Jackson.  The Symphony Ball is the Jackson Symphony League’s largest fundraiser each year and features a seated dinner, live & silent auctions, and dancing into the evening.
