Mississippi Native Sam Jones’ Music Available on CD

Samuel Jones, Mississippi native and Composer-in-Residence for the Seattle Symphony Orchestra tells us that he has a new recording available.  Many MSO patrons will remember a few seasons ago when the orchestra played the Mississippi premiere of his symphony titled Palo Duro Canyon.  That Symphony has recently been released on CD, performed by the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, with Gerard Scwharz conducting. It is now available on Naxos Recordings. Jones recently said to us:  "The CD also includes my new Tuba Concerto. I'd love to share this news with your orchestra, your patrons, and all my Jackson friends."  The CD is available online at Amazon.com, NaxosDirect, Arkiv, and other online CD outlets, as well as at Borders and other record stores.

We salute Sam's continued success on the cutting edge of new music.  Sam is brother of MSO patron and Jacksonian Howard Jones.
