Vince Massimino: Violin

Vince Massimino, Assistant Concertmaster of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, is a native of Annapolis, Maryland, where he received his early musical training from his parents, Rinaldo and Agnes Massimino, both professional music educators. He studied the violin privately with local Annapolis Symphony member Regina Morin, and achieved such honors as solo appearances with the Annapolis and Baltimore Symphonies.

He earned a Bachelor of Music from North Texas State in 1987, where his mentors included Philip Lewis, James Lerch and Robert Davidovici. In 1987 he received an Orchestral Assistantship to study under Arnold Steinhardt and John Dally of the Guarneri String Quartet, in residence at the University of Maryland. He joined the Mississippi Symphony in 1989, the MSO String Quartet in 1993 and has served as Assistant Concertmaster since 1995. Local experience also includes performances with the Memphis Symphony, Memphis Opera, Mississippi Opera, Ballet Mississippi, Meridian Symphony, Greenville Symphony, Gulf Coast Symphony, Symphony Concerts of Mobile, Mobile Opera, and even such appearances as violinist in :Chicago - the Musical" presented by local entrepreneur William Kessler.
