Ken Graves: MSO Prinicpal Clarinet

Ken Graves currently serves as Principal Clarinetist for the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra.  He has performed with the Alabama, Baton Rouge, Pensacola, Huntsville and Meridian Symphonies and
performs regularly with the Mississippi Opera and Mississippi Chorus.  Ken is part of the teaching faculty at both Millsaps College and Mississippi College, and enjoys maintaining a private clarinet studio.  Many of his students received scholarship, and were accepted to local and nationally-recognized music festivals.
 
As a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts, Ken received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music where he was a student of Richie Hawley.  He also attended the Colburn Conservatory and earned his Master of Music degree from University of Southern California, where he studied under Yehuda Gilad.
 
Ken has performed at several widely-known national music festivals, including Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, National Orchestral Institute, and the Spoleto Festival USA.  When he's not performing and teaching, he enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and football.  MSO is proud to call Ken one of our own.
