Ohio native Julie Hudik received her bachelor’s degree in music performance from Kent State University, studying with Jeff Rathbun and Danna Sundet. She then became a student of Doris DeLoach at Baylor University, earning a Master of Music Performance degree. While at Baylor, Julie held the graduate assistantship in oboe and performed with the Waco Symphony Orchestra as second oboist. Julie went on to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music, holding the Orchestra Librarian Assistantship and the Liberace Winds Graduate Woodwind Quintet Oboe Fellowship. She studied with Barbara Bishop while at UMKC and earned an Artist’s Certificate in Oboe Performance.

Julie has performed in masterclasses given by Elizabeth Camus, Larry Combs, John Ferrillo, Erin Hannigan, John Mack, the Borealis Wind Quintet, and the Imani Winds. Prior to her appointment with the MSO, Julie was active as a freelance musician in the greater Kansas City area. In addition to the Waco Symphony Orchestra, Julie has performed with the Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City Civic Orchestra, the St. Joseph, Mansfield, and Stow symphony orchestras.
