David Dick: Trombone
Dr. David Dick is the Principal Trombone player for the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and MSO Brass Quintet. Originally from the Canadian prairies, David received the Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance from the University of Regina, in Saskatchewan, Canada where he was a member of the Regina Symphony Orchestra and low brass instructor for the University of Regina Conservatory of Music. He received the Master's Degree in Music Performance from McGill University in Montreal and received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Memphis. David remains active as a freelance musician in a wide variety of settings including orchestras, chamber groups, wind ensembles, jazz orchestras and jazz combos. He has performed with the Memphis Symphony, Arkansas Symphony, Jackson Symphony, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and was an Aspen Summer Music Festival Fellow. David is also an adjunct professor of music theory and trombone for Belhaven College in Jackson, MS.
