Darcie Bishop: Trumpet
Darcie Bishop, Principal Trumpet with the Mississippi Symphony since 1988, also holds the position of Associate Professor of Music at Jackson State University. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, she holds the Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Higher Education from The University of Mississippi, and both the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Trumpet Performance from The Juilliard School in New York.
As an active chamber musician Darcie is principal trumpet of the Mississippi Camerata, and the MSO Brass Quintet. She has participated in the Eastern Music Festival, Waterloo Music Festival and New York Renaissance Festival, among others.
