Principal Flute

Amulet Strange is Principal Flutist of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra & member of MSO Woodwind Quintet since 2015. Additionally, she is Adjunct Professor of Flute at Jackson State University & Mississippi College. She is also on the Artist Roster with the Mississippi Arts Commission.

Ms. Strange has been a guest flutist with Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Meridian & Gulf Coast orchestras. Throughout the Jackson metro area, she is frequently sought after as a concerto soloist & chamber musician. Other performance highlights include the National Flute Association Convention, American Harp Society Summer Institute, Spoleto Festival USA & Avaloch Farm Music Institute.

As a Texas native & Interlochen Arts Academy graduate, Ms. Strange holds Master of Music degree from Rice University & Bachelor of Music degree from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she was recipient of the Presser Scholar Award. Notable teachers include Timothy Day & Leone Buyse, with additional influence from Aralee Dorough, Catherine Payne & Jocelyn Goranson.
